Its a popular hiking trail with lots of hikers since first part of trail is also the way to the Ptarmigan trail and gate. The trail is home to a variety of animals, including grizzly bears, black bears, moose, mountain goats, and bighorn sheep.

There was a small parking area near the trailhead but full already. Trailhead: The Iceberg Lake Trailhead is located at the end of the Continental Divide Trail (Route 3) in Many Glacier, 21 miles from St. Parking was easy near the Swiftcurrent Inn since we were there early driving from St Mary.
